Geely EX2 adds five-star ANCAP safety rating to its credentials
Geely’s electric small car continues to redefine the segment, scoring 86% for Crash Protection, 79% for Safe Driving, 72% for Crash Avoidance, and 95% for Post Crash.
Geely Auto Australia’s recently launched Geely EX2 electric car has been awarded a five-star safety rating by independent safety test organisation, ANCAP SAFETY. The results reflect Geely’s commitment to offering Aussie drivers an uncompromising driving experience by design.
Designed to defy traditional small-car perceptions and deliver incredible value for money for Australians, the Geely EX2 combines clever packaging and thoughtful design with advanced technology and safety.
Tested under the new ‘Stages of Safety’ assessment criteria introduced from 2026, the Geely EX2 scored 86% for Crash Protection, 79% for Safe Driving, 72% for Crash Avoidance, and 95% for Post Crash.
Challenging the idea that compact dimensions mean compromising on protection, the Geely EX2 brings a level of occupant protection and intelligent driver assistance more commonly associated with larger vehicles, while using the same high-tech Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) platform as the Geely EX5 and Starray EM-i.
The Geely EX2 prioritises safety, with advanced passive and active safety features included as standard from Complete specification. Active safety features like Evasive Manoeuvre Assist (EMA) ensure new and seasoned drivers are well protected on every journey. Convenient safety-assist features, including Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and Auto Lane Change Assist (ALC), simplify everyday driving.
The Inspire variant also includes a 360-degree around-view monitor with transparent view, improving visibility of the surrounding environment.
ANCAP’s CEO, Carla Hoorweg, said of the result: “The Geely EX2 has prioritised the fundamentals. It offers a good level of crash protection and a broad suite of crash avoidance features. And, as an electric vehicle, has proven its ability to appropriately isolate high-voltage battery power after a crash, and minimise risks from battery damage”.

The Geely EX2 is priced from $26,490 plus on-road costs in the Complete grade, while the top-spec Inspire is priced from $30,990 plus on-road costs.
